Some Help in Antique Furniture Terms That Can be Confusing

If the appearance and styles of tools and materials have gradually changed and evolved over the years, so did the terms that were used to refer to such. In the case of antique furniture, much of the terms that were used in the early ages are no longer used in today’s everyday language. As such, many find it hard to understand the usual furniture terms that seemed so common decades before.

Antique Furniture Restoration

Furniture restoration is heard in a selection of settings. If you like observing DIY shows, shows that help establish the value of antiques, like the Antique Road Show on PBS and other similar programs, you can sometime end up looking around your house and thinking you have got some furniture restoration projects you would not mind taking on yourself. Some furniture restoration projects are reasonably simple and easy. Dumping a waxy build-up on an antique table or roll top desk, for instance, is a project that might be different and lots more tricky than what it was originally forecasted to be.

I have an antique relish dish that is broken in half. Where can I get it repaired?

Even worse – it’s not mine and my nephew broke it.
Well, saaanen, it belonged to a grandmother so the cost isn’t why we want to fix it. and HONESTLY it was broken while nephew was trying to help clear the table. Getting it repaired was the question.

I have recently acquired what looks like an antique dish that is white with handles. It says Made in USA 4303
